The Medical Office Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily work of the Receptionists, file clerks and transcriptionists to ensure the smooth efficient operation of the office. The Medical Office Supervisor is to ensure that patient appointments, concerns and questions are dealt with in a timely, courteous manner. The Medical Office Supervisor is to maintain clear communication between the Front Desk and the Providers regarding changes to the appointment schedule, and see that patient bills and insurance claims are mailed in a timely manner.


Orient, train and supervise all front office staff

Prepare front office staff work schedule and job assignments

In conjunction with the Site Manager, conduct performance appraisals for front office staff as required

Assist the Site manager in the hiring of front desk personnel, file clerks, and transcriptionist

Assist with the writing and revising of procedure relevant to the front office

Ensure that all practice policies and procedures are followed Answer patient questions regarding their bills

Assist patients in establishing a payment schedule. Assist patients with questions or concern regarding their accounts


High School Diploma or equivalent required

Two (2) years of medical office experience required


Ability to speak, read, write and understand the English language

Ability to lift 25 pounds

Occasional kneeling, pushing/pulling and reaching

Ability to operate a personal computer and general office equipment

Ability to deal courteously with patients

Ability to maintain effective working relationship with other employees


Associate's Degree preferred

Prior supervisory experience in a medical office preferred
