SUMMARY OF POSITION:

As a CVOR RN, you'll be entrusted with a wealth of specialized knowledge essential for the seamless functioning of our cardiac surgery department. Your primary responsibility will be to provide comprehensive care for patients throughout the entirety of their cardiovascular surgery journey. This encompasses conducting thorough preoperative assessments, meticulously preparing patients for surgery, providing attentive intraoperative support, and delivering compassionate postoperative care. Collaborating closely with our skilled surgeon, you'll ensure the safe and efficient execution of every procedure. Your ability to excel under pressure and foster effective teamwork will be pivotal to your success in this role.

JOB SUMMARY:

The Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR) Registered Nurse stands as a cornerstone in our esteemed cardiac surgery department, collaborating closely with renowned surgeon, Dr. Lodge, to execute intricate procedures such as coronary artery bypass grafts, valve repair and replacement, and aortic surgery. Harnessing a profound understanding of the nursing process and upholding the highest professional standards, they navigate each day with precision and expertise. In the high-stakes environment of the CVOR, their adeptness at thriving under pressure and fostering seamless teamwork are indispensable qualities for success in this pivotal role.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

  • Currently licensed to practice as a Registered Nurse by state of employment or holds a multistate RN license through the interstate Nurse Licensure Compact.

  • AHA BLS prior to end of orientation period
