SUMMARY OF POSITION :
Responsible for assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating nursing care to a designated group of patients. The Dialysis/ICU Resource RN is a dedicated direct care RN whose role is to provide care under the direction of a nephrologist for patients requiring dialysis therapies, including hemodialysis and continuous renal replacement therapy. The Dialysis/ICU Resource RN will also provide care to ICU-level patients. The Dialysis/ICU Resource RN will be a resource to other RNs caring for CRRT, CAPD cyclers, and hemodialysis. This RN will provide dialysis education to patients and as well as staff and perform quality assurance testing as required.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
Currently licensed to practice as a registered nurse by State of employment
AHA BLS prior to the end of the orientation period
One (1) year of RN experience required
Previous Critical Care and Hemodialysis experience required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):
Experience with Tablo and CRRT
