Penn State Health Inpatient Staff Pharmacists are responsible for assuring safe, rational, and cost effective drug therapy for patients within the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center by assuring the accuracy of drug dispensing, physician order evaluation, and the monitoring of drug therapy. Pharmacists are also responsible for interdisciplinary collaboration with all providers involved in the care of patients with respect to pharmacotherapy issues, participating in assuring adherence to Medical Center drug use policy, and providing pharmacotherapy education and information for physicians, nurses, residents, students, and patients.
Inpatient Pharmacists support the entire hospital including but not limited to the Intensive Care Units, Pediatrics, Internal Medicine, Organ Transplantation, Cardiology etc. The diverse patient population at our tertiary care acute teaching hospital offers opportunities to gain experience providing pharmaceutical care to those with multiple disease processes in an educationally stimulating environment leading to optimization of care.

B.S. or Pharm.D. degree in pharmacy required.
Current Pennsylvania Licensure or eligibility required.
Must be an effective communicator and have excellent time management and conflict resolution skills.
Previous hospital pharmacy experience preferred.
Able to sit occasionally; stand constantly; walk frequently.
Able to lift 0-10 lbs. constantly; 11-35 lbs. occasionally.
Able to carry 0-10 lbs. frequently; 11-35 lbs. occasionally.
Able to push 0-10 lbs. constantly; 11-20 lbs. frequently; 21-35 lbs. occasionally.

Able to climb occasionally; reach constantly.
Able to use hands for simple/firm grasping.
