In addition, the nurses in the MIMCU are trained to care for patients requiring chronic mechanical ventilation via tracheostomy as well as to administer, monitor, and recover patients requiring conscious sedation for bedside procedures. The MIMCU is a proud recipient of the AACN Silver Beacon Award. CCRN and/or PCCN certification is encouraged and financially rewarded.
