JOB SUMMARY:

Our 12-bed Pediatric Emergency Department provides emergent and urgent care to children from infancy through adolescence. Our patient population is challenging and rewarding as we care for patients with both acute and chronic conditions and a wide variety of acuity levels, illnesses and injuries in this Level 1 Pediatric Regional Trauma Center. This dynamic division treats more than 20,000 patients annually. In addition to an intensive clinical orientation, nurses complete training in ACLS, PALS, Trauma Nursing Course, behavioral health training, moderate sedation care, and other programs unique to the emergency nursing environment. High energy, critical thinking and excellent assessment skills are the cornerstones of pediatric emergency nursing care.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

Currently licensed to practice as a registered nurse by State of employment

AHA BLS prior to end of orientation period

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS*:

Able to sit occasionally; stand constantly; walk frequently.

Able to lift/carry 0-10 lbs frequently; 11-50 lbs occasionally.

Able to push/pull 0-20 lbs frequently; 21-75 lbs occasionally.

Able to climb occasionally; reach constantly.

Able to use hand for simple/firm grasping.
