J OB SUMMARY:

TheRN/Registered Nurse in Endoscopy is an integral part of the multidisciplinary Endoscopy team. The RN in this role will prep and recover patients for their procedures, as well as assist the multidisciplinary team in providing patient centered care in the procedural rooms in circulating role and/or highly technical specialized role. The Registered Nurse in this role is also responsible for administering conscious sedation for designated patients.

Endoscopy is a fast paced, inpatient and outpatient procedural area performing a variety of GI and Hepatology related procedures, approximately 1100 procedures/month. We are open 5 days/week with a call expectation outside of regular business hours providing 24/7 coverage. The RN in this role will assist with scheduled/urgent adult, GI procedures, on the Endoscopy unit, in the OR, on the Intensive Care Units, or in the Emergency Department. The RN on this unit frequently needs to multi-task, possess flexibility with assignments, and be a team-player as Endoscopy is a dynamic, innovative, and growing department at Penn State Health.

M INIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:

RegisteredNurse with a license to practice professional nursing in the state of Pennsylvania or a Registered Nurse from another state with a Temporary PA Practice Permit

6months of experience working as a RN

P REFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

Procedural, ICU or step-down experience is highly preferred
