SUMMARY OF POSITION :
Responsible to autonomously provide Critical Life Support Care and/or stabilization of chronically or acutely ill and/or injured adult and pediatric patients for both on scene and inter-hospital facility transports under protocols established by the Medical Director. Collaborates with other health team members and associated resource persons to provide continuity in patient care, problem solve, and implement treatment modalities and interventions in an effort to maximize patient outcomes.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):
High School diploma or equivalent required
Five (5) years of experience as an EMT-P in a busy 911 system required. Department of Transportation (DOT) National Standard Curriculum for EMT-P required
Emergency Medical Technician - Paramedic certification within the Commonwealth of PA or Pre-Hospital Health Professional credential required
Advanced Cardiac Life Support, Basic Cardiac Life Support, and Pediatric Advanced Life Support required
Completion of approved Emergency Vehicle Operations Training program required within two (2) months of date of hire
PA DOH EMSVO eligibility required within two (2) months of date of hire
Candidate must have a valid Pennsylvania State Drivers License as well as the physical stamina to work in an unstructured environment during periods of inclement weather and be able to move over rough terrain
NIMS 100, 200, 700, and 800 required
PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):
International Trauma Life Support or Pre-Hospital Trauma Life Support Certification preferred
