SUMMARY OF POSITION :
This pharmacist will be primarily responsible for patients at Pennsylvania Psychiatric Institute. The pharmacist at PPI will collaborates with interdisciplinary teams to assess patient’s mental health conditions, medication regimens, and potential barriers to adherence, and side effects of medications daily. The pharmacist will help optimize treatment plans for patients at PPI. They also complete order verification and provides clinical services to their patients.
Responsible for the overall drug therapy management of patients in specific pharmacotherapy specialty areas and the education of physicians, nurses, pharmacists, and pharmacy students regarding the appropriate utilization of medications. The clinical specialist is involved in direct patient care through multidisciplinary rounding and patient monitoring, develops and implements education programs for pharmacists, educates and trains pharmacy residents and students, and provides in-service education to physicians, nurses, and medical students.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
A Doctor of Pharmacy degree required.
A.S.H.P. accredited PGY1 and relevant PGY2 specialty residency or equivalent experience required.
Must be licensed or eligible for licensure to practice pharmacy in the state of Pennsylvania.
PHYSCIAL REQUIREMENTS*:

Able to lift 0-10 lbs. constantly; 11-35 lbs. occasionally.
Able to carry 0-10 lbs. frequently; 11-35 lbs. occasionally.
Able to push 0-10 lbs. constantly; 11-20 lbs. frequently, 21-35 lbs. occasionally. Able to pull 0-20 lbs. frequently; 21-35 lbs. occasionally.
Able to climb occasionally; reach constantly.
Able to use hands for simple/firm grasping.
