J OB SUMMARY:
This role will develop, implement, and provide supervision of comprehensive drug therapy management. Provides education, mentoring and coaching for staff development. Participates in departmental and hospital programs directed at improving patient care standards. Oversees all clinical activities of the department and attends multidisciplinary committee meetings and rounds at the discretion of leadership.
Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD) degree from an accredited school of pharmacy required.
Current licensure or eligibility for licensure by the Pennsylvania State Board of Pharmacy required.
Pharmacist preceptor certification required.
Membership in at least one of the following professional organizations: ASHP, ASCP, ACCP and specialty practice group(s) required.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
High degree of attention to detail.
Must be knowledgable of legal and regulatory bodies affecting healthcare and pharmacy practices.
In-depth and current knowledge of comprehensive drug therapy management and able to make accurate and independent decisions.
Ability to coordinate and implement educational programs
Board Certification in Pharmacology Specialty (BPS) preferred.
Pharmacy Graduate Year 1 (PGY-1) Residency experience preferred.
