Shift: Days, Monday - Friday

Hours: 8:00a -4:30p


This position is responsible for accepting, prioritizing, facilitating, and processing requests for all elective, urgent, and emergent surgical bookings and ensures correct and accurate report production. Reschedules any procedures that have been requested to be moved or rescheduled. OR Schedulers are the portal of entry and the gate keepers for booking requests for multiple Surgical Services areas (Endoscopy, Bronchoscopy, OR, etc). The Surgery Scheduler is alsoresponsible for the secretarial aspects of the unit. She/he acts as a support person to the nursing staff and other members of the health care team for indirect aspects of patient care. This position functions as a pivotal communication link between the health care team, other departments and patients and families.


High School Diploma or equivalent required.

One (1) year of medical office or healthcare scheduling experience required.

Medical terminology required.


Accurate Keyboarding and data entry skills.

Excellent customer service skills.

Excellent interpersonal skills.

Ability to prioritize work and manage time requirements.
