SUMMARY OF POSITION:

As part of a healthcare team, the physician assistant will assess, examine, diagnose and treat acute illness or injury related to traumatic mechanism. May order, perform, or interpret diagnostic tests such as lab studies and imaging. May prescribe. Works in an inpatient critical care area.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATION(S):

  • Graduate of an AMA approved Physician Assistant Program or baccalaureate or higher degree program that meets licensure requirements in the State of employment

  • National Certification in State of employment or in another State with reciprocity and licensure to practice in the State of employment

  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification

  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification

PREFERRED QUALIFICATION(S):

  • Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS) certification

  • Fundamentals of Critical Care Support (FCCS) certification
