Responsible for performing the lab tests and follow good laboratory practices in accordance with CLIA regulations. This person is responsible to see that patient lab work is completed in an accurate, timely manner
Associates degree for Medical Laboratory Technician or bachelor's degree in a chemical, physical, or biological science from an accredited institution required.
MLT (ASCP) - Medical Laboratory Technician, American Society of Clinical Pathology Certification (ASCP) required OR must be ASCP certified within one year of employment.
Applicants trained outside of the United States must provide documentation of equivalency evaluation of their education and training to ensure it is equivalent to CLIA requirements. The equivalency evaluations will be performed by a nationally recognized organization. Ex. National Association Credential Evaluation Services, Inc. (NACES), the Association of International Credential Evaluators, Inc. (AICE). The applicant is responsible for paying the cost of the equivalency evaluation.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, & ABILITIES:
Good customer service and communication skills required.
Must be self-motivated and able to prioritize work.
Able to stand frequently, walk frequently, sit constantly.
Able to lift/carry 0-20 lbs frequently; 21-50 lbs occasionally.
Able to push/pull 0-50 lbs occasionally.
Able to climb occasionally, reach constantly.
Able to use hands for simple/firm grasping.
