SUMMARY OF POSITION:
We consider our interns to be our future team members, and we have built our program to reflect this. Our Interns are given project-based work – no making copies all summer. Each intern is given clear objectives to meet, participates in key projects and has the opportunity to contribute in a meaningful way to our Information Technology strategic mission. The internship ends with our interns giving presentations on what they learned as well as recommendations for future intern classes. Our IT Internship provides students with an opportunity to experience hands on how a healthcare IT team functions in a fast growing organization. Our interns will support IS end user services desktop project and operational support work. This position provides field support and problem resolution for personal computers, operating systems, and standard software applications.
Internship Description/Summary: Working onsite at the hospital and clinics updating computer operating systems, replacing computers, and installing hard disk drives.
High School Diploma or equivalent
Majors Desired(s): General information Sciences and Technology, System Administration, Business Administration
Experience/Skills/Requirements Desired: Experience using a windows computer; Knowledge of the windows operating system; Experience replacing a computer and connecting components.
Job Location: Penn State Health Holy Spirit hospital and surrounding clinics (100% On-site and 0% Remote)
